This tour takes you to Chile’s southernmost region of Patagonia. This area is unparalleled in magic and stark beauty. The ever-changing trails on mostly rocky terrain makes for some excellent hiking, as well as some incredible sights that vary from vast plateaus to deep, dark forests.
We start Punta Arenas, where we transfer to Puerto Natales before venturing into the park. Walk up the mountain peaks and stare out over the steep granite rocks, puncturing the staccato landscape. Observe the Grey Glacier, watching as pieces of ice break off and crash into the lake below. Take in the unique beauty of the Paine Horns as you hike through Pampas. 12 million years ago lava flows pushed through the thick sedimentary crust that covered this area, cooling to form granite mass. Glaciers then swept through the park, grinding away all but the ash-gray granite spires seen today. Mother Nature continues to favor this part of her kingdom, blessing it with gorgeous sunsets.
You are able to spot a wide variety of wildlife here: foxes, falcons, flamingos, condors, guanacos (a woolly graceful version of a llama) and much more.
